Mercury Disposal Systems (mds)

Mercury Disposal Systems (MDS) is a one of a kind, state of the art program designed to eliminate mercury containing bulbs from entering our landfills. To accomplish this MDS has partnered with several household name stores in an effort to provide the public with a convenient, hassle free program for the proper disposal of spent bulbs and batteries.

Mercury and our Children.
It's a deadly combination. Approximately 630,000 babies born every year could have dangerous mercury levels in their blood stream due to consumption of fish by their mothers.

How did it get there?
Over 700 Million fluorescent light-bulbs containing mercury are disposed of every year in the United States. Less than 30% are recycled. The remaining amount of mercury makes its way into the environment after carelessly disposing of a fluorescent bulb.

Mercury Disposal Systems (mds) were developed to mitigate this serious issue. MDS system was created after it's designer shattered a bulb and spread glass and mercury everywhere. Concerned local children would come in contact with this dangerous combination the MDS system was born.

Mercury Disposal Systems bags are highly puncture resistant and sealable insuring contents of a fluorescent bulb do not escape the bag, even if the bulb breaks.
